2020 - 2021 Season Begins

You will have to Pardon Our Dust!!!

Many of our regulars know that when we shut the pool down last year for Covid we also drained the pool and had engineers inspect the pool for damage from several earthquakes which was causing the East end of the pool to sink and loose water. Come to find out the cracks were worse than we expected and necessitates the rebuilding of the pool. We spent most of the summer interviewing pool builders and repair companies and getting estimates...we have now committed to making a substantial re-design of the pool and building and landscaping, both surrounding and within the pool area. The project will take several months to complete, but plan on a huge Pool Party when finished!!

Engineers should be here this week to measure and make plans to be submitted to the City and County for approval, which could take a month or so, then we will begin rebuilding the pool. We will be reducing the size of the pool by about 30-35% and restructuring the east end of the pool and finding and pressure testing all the old plumbing. Also installing solar heating for the pool as well. We also will be removing the roof. The sliding glass doors will be removed and blocked up with glass block, we plan to stucco the inside and outside of the building for aesthetics. We will install a Pergola and artificial turf to a portion of the pool deck and several large planters around the pool, should be a wonderful Desert Tropical Retreat when we are finished.

Note the Cracks which actually cross the entire pool, hard to see in the picture!

Covid Plans and Restrictions

California still has some pretty strict requirements to slow the spread of the virus. The park will be following all the current restrictions. The city has agreed to treat our kitchen and customers as a restaurant, so we will be dining outdoors either under the clubhouse portico or out by the shuffleboard courts, either way, you will be required to have your mask on and social distance when arriving and while heading to the kitchen for your meal, but once seated among friends and family and eating the masks can be removed and you can enjoy the evening.

29 Palms RV Resort and guests have always protected our senior residents, if you are sick or showing any symptoms of the virus, flu or a cold, please stay in your rig and have a family member retrieve your food and eat in the privacy of your RV, we DO NOT want any of our guests or residents to spread colds, flu or the Virus.

We will be offering Pancake Breakfasts on the weekends, Saturday Dinners, Thanksgiving and Christmas Potlucks and of course a wonderful New Years Celebration, Saturday Dinners right through April. Morning coffee is beginning next weekend as well as the Pancake breakfasts and Wednesday BBQ Social Hour...we are anxious to get started. Mike & Marilyn are here as well as Jim & Bobbie...Stephen and Jessica plan to be here Nov 1 or so...

The Golf Course is in the best shape in over 5 years with green grass and the regulars here are playing as much as they can. Roadrunner Dunes Golf Course is also offering TACO TUESDAY with great tacos and fixings for $5.00, plus cold beer and soft drinks, live music with outside dining. Fridays they will be offering BBQ, catered by a local BBQ Company!! Some fun times at the Golf Course!

We are working on the full calendar but see that we already have quite a few things going on, look for more updates soon.

Last Dance

Not Quite sure how you memorialize nearly 20 years of fun, smiles and friendship from such a wonderful woman and huge part of the activity scene here at Twentynine Palms RV Resort.

We all knew last year when she left early to head back for treatment she had a battle on her hands and we hoped and prayed for her to regain her health.

Hard to select just a few highlights of her since she was in so many activities, but here are a few memories from the past few years.

Want to thank Wayne Larson & his lovely wife JoAnn Ronish Nobel for making the trip over for Shirley's Service

Our Shirley

Eddie and Wayne

There is a hole in the hearts of all of our Twentynine Palms Family and it certainly will never be the same with out Shirley, but when the dance floor warms up again, you can be sure there will be a space for Shirley!

We look forward to the return of our winter friends here at the park and hope for everyone's safe return.
