Blog Update - Wed Night BBQ and Celebration of Life

Our weekly evening happy hour and BBQ was a very special time last night as we enjoyed a Celebration of Life for a very long term Park resident we lost this past summer. Diane Firth Harriman.

Diane and her first husband Jerry were cornerstones here at Twentynine Palms RV Resort. They were both instrumental in what this park has become and all the friendships that have developed over the years. Without fail, every story of her wonderful personality last evening began with - When we first arrived at the park, oh so many years ago, the first person we met was Diane. Through the years Diane was always in the spotlight of all the activities, from memorable skits, to line dancing to planning more things to do.

After Diane lost Jerry a number of years ago she met another longtime park person, Bob Harriman and they were married on the 9th green at the golf course and a reception was held in the clubhouse. Diane continued her park roles and she and Bob remained very active in the Park activities. Diane was a beautiful person who loved to dress stylish and loved her wigs.

Many current park guests shared Diane stories and memories!

We had a large turnout!

Bob shared a memory and thanked us all!

Team Diane line danced to Elvira for Diane!

Team Diane and Bob!
Many are wearing a few of Diane's wigs!

There was food and music as the evening progressed!

Our resident group the Luminators played some nice music.

As time goes on, we are sure to lose some more of our good friends here at the Park, Diane will be missed and her always present smile will remain here with us...

Stay tuned for more fun and memorable times as we celebrate Mardi Gras this weekend and our infamous Luau the first weekend of March.
