Taco Dinner in the Clubhouse and outside decorations

Linda Stevens put some time in finishing up the decorations at the clubhouse, she and Jim put the outside decorations up and they look great.

Lori treated us to another wonderful dinner in the Clubhouse we had a Taco bar to create our own Taco along with her wonderful Green Chili Casserole.

Going to be a busy week as we prepare for Christmas. Next Saturday evening we are having our annual Christmas Party - drop a can of your favorite Chili by the office or Clubhouse and we will have a great chili feed, bring a wrapped $10.00 or under gift labeled male, female or both for the gift exchange always a fun event. The party starts at 4:00 PM with Hot buttered Rum - Chili at 5:00 PM and Gift Exchange at 6:00 PM. Feel free to bring your favorite chili topping to share...

Christmas Day we are having our Christmas Dinner in the clubhouse, a wonderful potluck - with Turkey and Ham provided by the park and our park guests supply all the side dishes, sign up sheet out side of the Clubhouse. There is no charge for the dinner.

Clubhouse Dinner - beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It has been a busy week, had a few new arrivals of our winter friends and decorating the Clubhouse for Christmas started in earnest.

This Saturday Evening dinner was pork chops, scalloped potatoes, vegetable, salad, fresh bread and Cake and ice cream for dessert. We had a wonderful crowd of about 27 people and quite a few new people, several have promised to return.

We had a special return guest - Don Nobert came up to participate in the Toys For Tots golf tournament, which was a huge success. Then Don stayed for dinner and a nice visit. Seen here with Jim and Lori Prestwood and Shane and Katie our workampers.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Pot Luck in the Clubhouse today and a nice crowd of mostly new people along with a few of us old regulars...still waiting for more of our winter crowd to arrive.

Another Great Saturday Night Dinner

The season is up and running, we had another nice crowd of over 20 people for a wonderful dinner in the Clubhouse. We enjoyed meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans a wonderful salad and fresh warm bread. Of course we had ice cream for dessert.

Our past activity directors stopped by and helped Lori and Jim, it was great seeing John and Pat Jeanette and hearing about their travels and plans for the winter. They are headed to family for Thanksgiving, but will return in a week or so then head for family on the west coast.

Our new 65 inch TV arrived and is installed - plans for Thursday Night Football and Movie nights this season!

Around the property we are making some changes - Like Doggie Stations

The new Sauna is installed and ready to go!

We have a big Thanksgiving Pot Luck Planned as always plenty of food - Join Us!

Waiting on more winter friends - weather has been perfect warm sunny days and cool desert nights!

2018-2019 Season Begins

Let the fun begin!

Our Saturday evening dinners started this week in the Clubhouse with a wonderful Spaghetti Dinner, Salad and Garlic bread and ice cream for dessert.

We had a nice crowd of 18 people with several new people who are joining us for the season!

Golf Course Update

The golf course is better and better every day - Jim Stevens has been mowing the fairways and greens - key word mowing - means he is cutting grass not dirt! All reports give a huge thumbs up and way better than when we left last spring!

Jim is proud of his Gold Medal he won at the Senior Games in Utah!

Thirteen people from the course and park went to the senior games and they won a total of 10 medals, so be ready for some competition.

Park Update

We had a break in at the Park Office and Clubhouse and went through a major key change so all new keys for every building on the property - investigating an alarm system and tighter security measures. Sadly we lost our TV in the Clubhouse, but we are shopping for a bigger one to replace it soon. Overall the park is in good shape - we have made some improvements - the new Sauna is here and scheduled to be installed this week, RV Electrical pedestals and meters are being upgraded. We have installed Doggie Stations in the park with waste bags and waste disposal. Pool is warm and ready, air pump in hot tub will knock you off the seat.

Bushwood - Golf Course Update!

We see GREEN!

No it is not about the infamous course from Caddyshack, but an update on our own Roadrunner Dunes!

As many of you may know - I took about 4 weeks and went back to Ohio to visit family and attend a reunion. Well upon my return, Jim Stevens stopped by the trailer to welcome me home and said I must take a tour of the golf course and do an update as there is GRASS and he has been mowing, yes mowing, which means the grass is GROWING!!

So we took a ride around the course and it is amazing the transformation, a little water goes a long way. The course shut down for a month or so this summer and they started digging and finding sprinkler heads and control boxes and rewiring and re-piping...the work is still going on, but the course it greatly improved over last spring when we left.

The greens are in pretty good shape and the approach around the greens look really good, some of the fairways are getting green, however they still need work, T-boxes look pretty good...
