Luau Weekend gets started - Bury the Pig!

Although we have several great weekend events here at Twentynine Palms RV Resort from November to April, one of the most fun events is our Luau Weekend.

Luau Weekend kicked of with a long day of work and a great afternoon celebration when we "Bury the Pig"!

The pit was dug out several days ago and cleaned out then in the morning the fire gets started to build a nice thick bed of hot coals. Then at 3:00 PM the crowd gathers for the blessing of the pig and a round of Pina Coladas.

The wicked witch and her motley crew blessed the pig and the pig was buried.

Plenty of "Pig" for the big crowd for Saturday Nights dinner and celebration!

Even Spud picked up a shovel and helped!

Everyone is in Luau Mode!

The party continues with dinner and dancing tonight - including a performance by the Twentynine Palms Resort Theater group - we have over 80 people registered for dinner and the park is about 90% full.

I hope we can convince some of the new arrivals to spend the winter here next year as the fun begins in early November and runs right through April.

Stay tuned for more action as the season continues...
